Of course we can't answer all questions but here a few common ones we have heard over the years.

Remember this is only our opinion and the label of each chemical is the law.

Q: Where can I buy your product locally?
A: Carbotec is located on Hwy 311 between Houma and Thibodaux. We are about 2 miles north of Hwy 90.

Q: Can I get a sample of the product?
A: Chemicals products have been packaged and sealed by the manufacturer. If you require a sample product, we recommend you contact the manufacturer directly.

Q: If the label calls for two ounces four ounces will kill the pest twice as fast, right?
A: This is not always correct. There are many factors that go into determining the amount of a chemical that should be used (e.g. weather, sun light, temperature and the type of pests). These factors at times create situation where more will actually be less effective.

Q: Does Carbotec sell herbicides and insecticides to individual homeowners and landowners?
Property owners can purchase most products without a Restricted Use license. However, we always recommend the applicator follow the label.

Q: Since I do not have an Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality Applicator's license will I be able to buy any chemicals from Carbotec Chemicals?
A: Actually most of our products are not a "restricted use pesticide". The only RUP products we sell are 2,4D, Gramoxine, dursban, Weedmaster, Yuma, atrazine.

Q: How can I get a "restricted use pesticide" license?
A: Talk with your local County Agent. He will be able to prove you with information about how to get an RUP license.

There are many chemicals that are not RUP so unless you have a long-term need for these chemicals, please feel free to discuss other chemicals that might work as well.

Q: Where can I find a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)?
A: The MSDS as well as the label for each product can be found in many different places. Of course the manufacture will have both the label and MSDS. You can also find many labels and MSDSs at Crop Data Management System (www.CDMS.net).

Q: Does Carbotec take credit card?
A: At this time we only take MasterCard, Visa and Discover for our General Service Administration Contract.

Q: What payment terms does Carbotec have?
A: For our repeat customers in good standing, we can set up an account with 30 days net.

Q: Does Carbotec deliver?
A: This depends on the size of the order, the distance and the frequency of the order. We do not charge for large orders or long-term.

Q: Where can I get a recommendation on the products to control noxious weeds and pests?
A: The best way to get a recommendation on controlling pests is to contract your State's Agriculture Department's Local Extension Agent. They would be most familiar with the pests in your area, as well as the recommended product, application method, and rates.
